First Trailer for Retrobooster

November 5, 2012 by Terry

Presenting the first trailer for Retrobooster. This was made using video captured by Fraps in Windows and assembled using Kdenlive in Linux. Fraps is an inexpensive commercial product, and Kdenlive is completely free. This is one of those times I was really impressed by what you can do with free software in Linux. The trailer contains a sample of the in-game music by Kevin Meinert.

  1. Oh, verrrrry nice indeed :-)
I swear that huge cog near the start comes out of the screen!
Loving the lightning weapon, too – not seen something like that before. :-)

  2. That’s looking pretty hot! Great job! I love those gears too. It looks like the player ship could use a slight graphical update to keep up with them.

Fraps+Kdenlive is my combo too and it is surprisingly good (or almost equivalently, the alternatives are bad or expensive).
